Correspondence Enrollment and English Tests – Information for those who could not attend the OPEN DAY (course: MAY 2024)

Thank you for your interest in the FREE “Functional Skills - English & maths” courses organised by MacLav for the areas: Birmingham, Blackburn, Boston, Bradford, Burton, Carlisle, Chester, Chesterfield, Corby, Coventry, Crewe, Derby, Grantham, Grimsby, Hinckley, Hull, Kendal, King’S Lynn, Leamington Spa, Leeds, Leicester, Lincoln, Loughborough, Luton, Lutterworth, Mansfield, Melton-Mowbray, Milton Keynes, Newark, Northampton, Nottingham, Nuneaton, Redditch, Retford, Rugby, Scunthorpe, Shirebrook, Stamford, Stoke-On-Trent, Telford, Wakefield, Walsall, Worcester, Worksop.
Individuals who, for various reasons, could not personally attend the OPEN DAY enrollments (e.g., due to work or illness) or learned about the enrollment too late, can do so via postal mail.
CONCERNING the course: MAY 2024. START of the course: 13th May 2024, END of the course: 12th July 2024, EXAMS: 15th July 2024. All British proficiency levels: Entry1, Entry2, Entry3, Level1, Level2 with a certified exam. Group learning with a teacher takes place from home (live, via computer or phone) in the form of ZOOM videoconferencing. Options include: weekend course or weekday (evening) course.
MANDATORILY check, before you start, if you reside in the areas where enrollments took place – the list of cities is available above. REMEMBER that at the same time you can only participate in one government-funded course. This means that if someone wants to attend an ESOL course at another college in January, they should choose only one course.

DEADLINES: Electronic form by 6th May 2024, 1pm. Return of completed paper documents by mail by 8th May 2024, 1pm.
Documents in paper form will be sent to the address you provided in the online form (above) via Royal Mail. They must be filled out personally at home and a set of tests must be completed, which will help determine your current level of English proficiency. After filling out the documents, please place them in the enclosed, pre-paid return envelope provided by us and send them back to the office address.
UPON RECEIPT OF THE DOCUMENTS sent to your home address, PLEASE watch a short instructional video, which concerns the tests. This is to prevent you from being placed in the wrong group - either too advanced or too beginner. Link to the video - click here...
