Confirmation of Settled Status for College – ABC, Step by Step
We present to you a step-by-step guide on how to generate the correct share code for the school (as there are 3 options) confirming your Settled Status or Pre-Settled Status in the United Kingdom.
[0] We go to the website https://www.gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status titled: View your eVisa and get a share code to prove your immigration status online and click the green button [Sign in].
[1] What identity document did you use in your application?
We select exactly the document we used to apply, such as a passport or identity card, and click the [Continue] button. The picture below.
[2] What is your passport number?
In the next step, in our example, we enter the passport number and click the [Continue] button. However, if you provided an identity card in the previous step, you need to enter the identity card number here. The picture below.
[3] What is your date of birth?
We enter the date of birth as it appears on the document and click the [Continue] button. The picture below.
[4] How do you want to receive a security code?
We choose whether we want to receive the code via SMS or email and click the [Continue] button. After a moment (or a few minutes), we will receive a message with the code, which we need to enter in the box, and then click the [Continue] button. The picture below.
[5] After successfully entering the code, we arrive at the page titled: Your immigration status. Below is the Prove your status section, where we click the [Prove your status] button. The picture below.
[6] Get a share code to prove your status
Next, to generate a "share code" that will confirm the right to reside in the United Kingdom, we click the [Get share code] button. The picture below.
[7] Why do you need a share code?
NOTE! Here we select the option “To prove my immigration status for anything else” (as the first two options confirm the right to work and the right to reside) and click [Preview what the checker will see]. The picture below.

On the next page, we will see what information the person checking your status will see. To share this information with them, at the bottom of this page, we click [Create share code]. The picture below.
[9] Details you need to share We reach the final page where the Share code has been generated, which will be valid for 30 days from the moment it is generated. This code should be sent to the school administration and will confirm your right to reside in the United Kingdom. The picture below.
