Located 49 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne, near the town of Wooler, lies the stunning and picturesque Harthope Valley, from where the shortest route leads to The Cheviot - the highest peak of the Cheviot Hills.

Harthope Valley is best visited on a sunny day, as the views are genuinely breathtaking right from the first gate, which marks the entrance to the Northumberland National Park.

Upon reaching the parking lot, the coordinates we provided above, we decided to visit Hosey Crags and Long Crags, small peaks visible from the parking lot in the photos below. They are accessible via the yellow trail, from which you can see the full beauty of this part of the Cheviot Hills after just a few minutes.
