Online Enrolment and English Tests – Information for those who could not attend the OPEN DAY (course: SEPTEMBER 2024)

Thank you for your interest in the FREE “Functional Skills - English and maths” courses organised by MacLav for the areas: Birmingham, Blackburn, Bolton, Boston, Bradford, Burton, Bury, Carlisle, Chester, Chesterfield, Corby, Coventry, Crewe, Derby, Grantham, Grimsby, Hinckley, Hull, Kendal, King’s Lynn, Leamington Spa, Leeds, Leicester, Lincoln, Loughborough, Luton, Lutterworth, Manchester, Mansfield, Melton-Mowbray, Milton Keynes, Newark, Northampton, Nottingham, Nuneaton, Redditch, Retford, Rugby, Scunthorpe, Shirebrook, Stamford, Stoke-On-Trent, Telford, Wakefield, Walsall, Wigan, Worcester, Worksop.
Individuals who, for various reasons, could not personally attend the OPEN DAY enrollments (e.g., due to work or illness) or learned about the enrollment too late, can do so via online form and online tests.
CONCERNING the course:
- COURSE START: End of September 2024
- COURSE DURATION: 12-14 weeks (depending on the level)
All British proficiency levels: Entry1, Entry2, Entry3, Level1, Level2 with a certified exam. Group learning with a teacher takes place from home (live, via computer or phone) in the form of ZOOM videoconferencing. Options include: weekend course or weekday (evening) course.
MANDATORILY check, before you start, if you reside in the areas where enrollments took place – the list of cities is available above. You can also verify if your residential area is eligible for funding for this course, by visiting the website and checking if your postcode (POSTCODE) yields the result "Are: NON DEVOLVED" or "Area: WMCA" or "Area: GMCA" - click the link: https://skillspostcodecheck.com/tool/
REMEMBER that at the same time you can only participate in one government-funded course. This means that if someone wants to attend an ESOL course at another college, they should choose only one course.

*You can complete the Long Form^^ after the first online meeting, but it is mandatory to be added to the student list; without it, you will not be able to start the course.
DEADLINES: Electronic form by 18 September 2024, 1pm. Online Tests by 20 September 2024, 1pm.
AFTER COMPLETING THE ONLINE FORM, but before taking the tests , PLEASE watch a short instructional video, which concerns the tests. This is to prevent you from being placed in the wrong group - either too advanced or too beginner. Link to the video - click here...
Course details:
- We offer all British proficiency levels: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2 with a recognised Certificate once you have successfully passed the course.
- The course is FREE and fully funded by the government.
- This course is for EVERYONE (both employed and unemployed).
- This course is NOT available to Student Visa holders.

You can choose to study either two evenings a week, or during both days during the weekend. Lesson times are:
- Midweek course (evening): 6pm to 9pm (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, both days MUST be attended).
- OR 10am to 1pm on a Saturday and Sunday (both days MUST be attended)
